The mantra on the JDS site is plandid — planned candid. The day gets arranged subtly behind the scenes so every moment unfolds naturally in the best light, which leaves the couple free to be present rather than directed. Over 200 weddings in, the skill is knowing when to guide and when to step back.
Discreet on-body mics for the groom and the officiant, room mics for the atmosphere, all professionally mixed afterwards. It is the detail most wedding films quietly skip, and it is the reason the vows and the speeches sound like they did on the day rather than like a distant recording.
Every film collection carries a 15–20 minute cinematic 4K film, with the full ceremony and the full speeches delivered as separate 4K files for playback. A short Instagram trailer comes with it, for the people asking to see something the week after.
Drone coverage is included wherever conditions and permissions allow. Films land within eight weeks on average, up to twelve through the summer. The package, the contract and the 30% booking fee all live in a single online client portal rather than scattered across email.

Jon is JDS Weddings. First wedding in 2013, an MA in Photography behind him, and the business formed in 2021 as a split from a previous wedding company. His own films page puts it plainly: “I personally film every wedding”, with trusted team members brought in when a day needs extra coverage.
There are three published collections rather than one price: Photography at £1,695, Film at £1,895, and Signature at £3,695 for both together. All three run to at least ten hours, from preparations through to the first dance.
Midweek, winter, short-notice and preferred-venue discounts are all offered. Destination weddings are deliberately not taken on — the work stays inside the UK, and inside a single day.
